The Summerley Estate sits right on the Felpham seafront, five minutes from our Bognor Regis workshop — a pocket of detached private houses off Limmer Lane, a good few of which we've now floored. It's the kind of estate where one job leads to the next: a neighbour sees the herringbone going down, and before long we're back on the same street laying another.
Most of what we do here is supply and installation — new oak herringbone and engineered boards fitted over a properly prepared subfloor — alongside refurbishment work, lifting and repairing tired parquet and sanding it back to a warm, even finish. Detached beach-estate homes, a stone's throw from the sea, but the standard doesn't change from one to the next.
On the Summerley Estate we do a lot of supply and installation — new oak herringbone and engineered floors, set out and laid over a fresh plywood subfloor so the finished floor sits flat and lasts. It's the pattern we're asked for most here: a clean herringbone run carried through a hall and open-plan living space.
We also handle plenty of refurbishment and repair — lifting damaged blocks, patching in matching timber and re-laying, then sanding the whole floor back and sealing it to a warm, natural tone. Being a beach estate, we always check the subfloor for damp and movement before we quote, so nothing lifts or cups a season down the line.

Where the job begins — a fresh plywood subfloor down in the foreground, ready to receive its new oak herringbone, with the home’s existing dark-stained parquet still in place across the threshold. Getting the subfloor flat and sound first is what keeps a herringbone floor tight for decades.
Mid-installation, at the join between old and new — edge blocks lifted back to the black bitumen subfloor and a laser level set out so the fresh herringbone runs dead straight into the existing floor. The fiddly, careful part of a parquet job, done properly.
